    Terms & Conditions

    Please read these terms carefully. By creating an account or using SocietyBee, you agree to be bound by them.

    Last updated: 1 June 2026

    1. Introduction

    SocietyBee (www.societybee.in) is a web-based housing society management platform that provides billing, receipts, accounting, reporting and member-management tools for co-operative housing societies, apartment associations and resident welfare associations across India (the “Service”). The Service is owned, operated and maintained by Simplifyne Technology Private Limited, a company incorporated in India and based in Mumbai, Maharashtra (“Simplifyne”, “we”, “us” or “our”).

    These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Service. By registering for, accessing or using SocietyBee, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

    2. Eligibility & Accounts

    The Service is available to registered users only. To use SocietyBee, a society must register an account, and access is granted to authorised representatives through their email addresses. The person who first registers a society or is designated as administrator (“Admin” or “Moderator”) is responsible for managing access and permissions for committee members, staff, vendors and residents within that society.

    You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must be at least 18 years old and authorised to act on behalf of the society you register. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.

    3. The Service

    SocietyBee provides accounting, billing, collections, communication and reporting tools for housing societies. Some features and statutory report formats are designed for specific Indian states (for example, Maharashtra co-operative bye-law requirements) and may not apply elsewhere. You are responsible for using your own discretion and verifying that the modules you use are appropriate for your society and jurisdiction.

    We may upgrade, modify or improve the Service from time to time. Updated versions are made available to all registered users automatically. We may add, change, suspend or discontinue features, in whole or in part, and will give registered users reasonable notice where a change materially affects their use, so that they may export their data or create records for future use.

    4. Subscription Plans & Payments

    SocietyBee is offered under different plans, including a free tier for smaller societies and paid plans with additional capacity and features. You are free to choose your plan. Paid subscription fees, where applicable, are billed in advance through our payment partner and are exclusive of applicable taxes (such as GST) unless stated otherwise.

    Online payments are processed by third-party payment gateways (such as Razorpay). We do not store your full card or bank credentials. Refunds, where applicable, are governed by our Refund Policy.

    5. Your Data & Ownership

    All accounting, member and financial data that your society enters into SocietyBee (“Society Data”) belongs to your society. We process Society Data solely to provide the Service to you. You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of the data you upload and for ensuring you have the necessary consent to store residents’ information.

    Passwords are treated as belonging to the user. Passwords are stored only in encrypted form, and neither Simplifyne nor its personnel have access to your plain-text passwords. Our handling of personal data is further described in our Privacy Policy.

    6. Acceptable Use

    You agree not to use the Service to:

    • upload, store or distribute any content that is unlawful, defamatory, abusive, infringing or otherwise prohibited under applicable law;
    • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems and networks;
    • reverse-engineer, decompile, extract source code, scrape or copy the Service or its content; or
    • resell, sublicense or commercially exploit the Service without our consent.

    Each user is solely responsible for the content they create or distribute. We may suspend or block access for any user found to be abusing the Service or violating these Terms.

    7. Intellectual Property

    The Service, including its software, design, content, trademarks and the “SocietyBee” name, contains proprietary and confidential information protected by intellectual property and other laws, and remains the property of Simplifyne. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership of the Service to you.

    8. Third-Party Links

    The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the content, terms or privacy practices of those sites, and a link does not imply our endorsement.

    9. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

    The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While we work to keep SocietyBee accurate and reliable, we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. SocietyBee is a tool to assist with society accounting and compliance; it does not constitute professional accounting, legal or tax advice, and you should consult a qualified Chartered Accountant or advisor for your specific situation. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed the fees paid by you to us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

    10. Termination & Data Export

    You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms. On termination, you may request an export of your Society Data within a reasonable period, after which we may delete it in accordance with our Privacy Policy and retention obligations.

    11. Governing Law

    These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Mumbai, Maharashtra.

    12. Changes to These Terms

    We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational or regulatory reasons. The updated Terms take effect when posted on this page, and your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance.
